Privacy Policy

BuddyKin is made by Rich System. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, and how you control it. The short version: the information you create about your dog stays on your iPhone, and the only third party that receives anything is our advertising provider.

Information you create

Your dog's profile, weight history, care tasks and reminders, daily notes, health records, saved answers, questions and memories — including any photos you add — are stored in BuddyKin's private storage on your device. This information is not uploaded to Rich System, and we cannot see it.

There is no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.

Advertising

BuddyKin is free and supported by banner advertising from Google AdMob, shown on the Home and Memories screens only. Ads are not shown alongside health guidance, care records or the Ask screen.

To serve ads, Google may process your device's advertising identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and interactions with the ads themselves. On first use after setup, iOS asks whether you allow tracking. If you do not allow it, BuddyKin requests non-personalised ads, and Google is instructed not to use the advertising identifier to build a profile about you. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy & Terms. Nothing about your dog — the profile, records, notes, questions or memories — is shared with advertisers.

Permissions the app asks for

• Photos. Used to find dog photos already on your device so you can add them to your timeline. The scan runs on your iPhone. When you keep a photo, BuddyKin saves a private copy; your original stays in Photos untouched. BuddyKin never deletes or edits your library.
• Camera. Used only when you choose to take a photo for a memory or a record.
• Location. Optional, and off unless you turn on weather-aware guidance. When on, your location is used to look up local weather through Apple's WeatherKit so BuddyKin can warn about heat risk. It is not stored by us or sent to advertisers.
• Notifications. Optional, used to deliver the care reminders you create. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Every permission is optional. Declining one turns off the related feature; the rest of the app keeps working.

Diagnostics

BuddyKin keeps a short log of in-app events (for example, that a memory was added) in its local storage to power in-app behaviour. This log stays on your device and is included when you export your data.

Your controls

• Export. Settings › Privacy & data › Prepare data export produces a file containing your BuddyKin data.
• Delete. Settings › Delete account and local data removes the profile, memories, records and local photo copies from your device. This cannot be undone, and you do not need to contact us.
• Uninstall. Deleting the app removes its storage.

Children

BuddyKin is intended for adults caring for a dog. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and no third-party scripts. Our host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it, and material changes will be noted in the app.
